BJ Whitmer, the husband of Kelly Klein, the reigning ROH Women of Honor Champion, stated on Twitter that Klein was fired by the promotion this past Tuesday:
Ring of Honor would later put out a statement to PWInsider:
“We don’t generally discuss personal issues but they seem to have made it public – we didn’t fire [Kelly Klein], we just notified her that we would not be renewing her contract.”
Klein is the current ROH Women of Honor Champion and the only two ime champion, winning the title twice. She has been out of action since ROH’s United Kingdom tour. She has been suffering from symptoms related to Post Concussion Syndrome.
Kelly Klein’s deal with the company is up at the end of this year.
No details on the future of the title have been released at this time.
